Naples, FL (February 12, 2018) – Collier County and Hunden Strategic Partners Announce the release of a Request for Indications of Interest (RFI) regarding the Management of the Proposed Collier County Sports Complex.

Collier County, Florida is issuing a Request for Indications of Interest (RFI) for the management of the proposed Collier County Sportsplex (Project). The County is in the process of developing a regional tournament caliber sports facility in multiple phases. The Project will be constructed on two tracts of land totaling 120 acres.

The Project was conceived after extensive research determined an opportunity to support local demand and sports tourism. The research culminated in a comprehensive assessment, completed by Hunden Strategic Partners (HSP). The report identified three components for the initial sports complex: 1) 8 multipurpose fields and 8 Baseball/softball fields; 2) a multipurpose championship venue with 3,000 to 6,000 seats; and 3) a fieldhouse/indoor facility up to 125,000 square feet. The concept also calls for potential creative amenities to be designed in and around the water management features and fields, such as walking/running trails, bicycle track, running track, beach volleyball, and shaded rest areas.

“The County is not locked into this field configuration,” said Jack Wert Director of the Naples Marco Island and Everglades CVB. “We want operators to tell us what they would need to make money in the amateur and youth sports environment. Our goal is to create the best facility in the country. When your think of field sports, we want you to think of Collier County, Florida. Particularly in December,” he quipped.

Collier County is soliciting expressions of interest from organizations who have an interest in the management of the proposed sports complex. The County is specifically interested in understanding the types of services that qualified organizations can provide to the Project. Through the RFI process, the County is interested in understanding the extent to which the private sector may be able to take on all or parts of the management of the proposed outdoor sports complex and potential future phase indoor sports complex.
